Vanished South Dakota Returns to Television!

Email share

In August, SDPB debuted "Vanished South Dakota", our new documentary that visits remnants of once-thriving towns to discover what led to the birth, boom, and demise of formerly prosperous communities throughout the state. Host Stephanie Rissler brings together historians, former residents and amateur ghost town hunters to find and tell the stories of South Dakota towns gone, but not forgotten. The show, a full year in the making, has been well received across the state with full house screenings almost everywhere we went. A full list of all the towns the show visits can be found here.

Due to popular demand, we are bringing the show back to television for four nights in December. Vanished South Dakota will be broadcast on SDPB-TV (main channel) on the following dates:

Monday, Dec. 2, 7pm (6MT)

Wednesday, Dec. 4, 8:30pm (7:30 MT)

Friday, Dec. 7, 7pm (6MT)

Sunday, Dec. 8, 7pm (6 MT)

Current SDPB/PBS Passport members can watch the show (and town extras!) on our website here.

If you would like to become a Passport member and unlock all the local and national programming it offers, you can learn more about that here.
