Picture South Dakota Photo Contest
2017 SDPB Photo Contest
For seven days this winter, SDPB invites photographers to submit photos of South Dakota.
All ages are encouraged to enter. (Contestants under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian.)
Photographers can enter one of three classes. Each photographer is eligible to enter one class only and may submit up to four (4) photographs for consideration.
1) Youth (You are in 12th grade and lower.)
2) Amateur/Hobbyist (You take photos for fun.)
3) Professional (You are consistently compensated for your photographic work and/or you are a business entity.)
Each class has 3 primary awards:
First Place - $250; Second Place - $150; Third place - $100.
In addition, $250 will be awarded in each class to the photograph chosen as “People’s Choice” based on online voting and $250 will be awarded to the photograph chosen as “Director’s Choice,” as selected by SDPB.
Photographs must be taken between February 13-February 20, 2017 and must depict an image created within the borders of the state of South Dakota.

Entries must be submitted using the upload form on the SDPB “Picture South Dakota” contest page at SDPB.org/photocontest. Deadlinesfor submissions is Sunday, February 26, at midnight.
Winners will be announced Wednesday, March 22, and will be published in the 2018 Picture South Dakota Calendar, produced by SDPB.
