Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls Roosevelt Win High School Baseball Titles

Class A

The Rough Riders of Roosevelt took down Brandon Valley on Saturday with a final score of 9-1, winning the Class A state baseball tournament. They finished the season with a 33-0 record, the first time any team in Class A has completed a perfect season.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt beat Sioux Falls O’Gorman and Mitchell to win the Region 2A Championship, and then beat Pierre in the semi-final round to set up a championship bout against Brandon Valley.

All-Academic Member(s): Alex Denevan, Alex Fiegen, Justin Aldrich, Kyle Gulbrandson, and Jack Simonsen.

Class B

Dell Rapids defeated Vermillion 7-0 in the Class B state baseball championship on Monday. This is the first ever high school baseball championship for the Dell Rapids program.

Throughout the tournament, Dell Rapids defeated Flandreau, Sioux Valley, and Deuel DCH to win the Class 2B Regional Championship. They then beat West Central in the semi-final round to advance to the state title game against Vermillion.
