The Small Business Administration says the deadline to apply for disaster loans for several counties in southeast South Dakota is looming.
The loans are available to small, nonfarm businesses that are impacted by drought.
Businesses in 13 counties are eligible. Those counties are Hutchinson, Lincoln, Bon Homme, Charles Mix, Clay, Davison, Douglas, Hanson, McCook, Minnehaha, Turner, Union and Yankton counties.
“SBA eligibility covers both the economic impacts on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers that have suffered agricultural production losses caused by the disaster and businesses directly impacted by the disaster. Economic injury assistance is available regardless of whether the applicant suffered any property damage,” said U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West Director Tanya Garfield.
The deadline to apply is April 17. You can find details on how to apply on the SBA website.
