For corn and soybean producers in South Dakota, it’s a good report from the US Department of Agriculture who said the state is ahead of its average production.
The USDA reports 45% of the state’s corn is in good or excellent condition, 37% is fair and only 18% is poor.
Further, the state’s soybean yield is also shaping up to be better than recent memory.
The report found 38% of South Dakota soybeans in fair condition and 44% is in good or excellent condition entering autumn.
These numbers, which can be found here, are the most recently reported of the season, dated Sept. 24.
