Elevate Rapid City is offering $180,000 in grant funding to combat child care shortages.

Child care accessibility and cost have been flagged as one of the contributing factors to the workforce shortage.

Three grants are open to in-home providers and another three grants are open to group providers or centers.

Funds must be used to expand the number of spots, whether through opening a new facility or expanding existing offerings.

The deadline to apply to receive funding is May 14.
