The city of Huron will host the annual Math and Science Education Conference (SDCTM/SDSTA Joint Conference) this week, starting on Thursday, Feb. 5. This event provides elementary – high school teachers, in South Dakota, a chance to learn about new classroom activities. These activities are aimed at being both educational and entertaining.

This three-day event will include guest speakers, activity sessions, and classroom teaching exercises.

South Dakota Public Broadcasting’s Education and Online Department will have a booth at the conference. Steven Rokusek with SDPB will provide two sessions; one to demonstrate hands-on science and math activities (Friday 1:30 pm), and the other will include activities incorporating the senses (Saturday 8:30 am).

This is the 23rd annual Joint Math and Science Education Conference for South Dakota teachers and educators. It will take place at the Crossroads Hotel-Event Center in Huron, SD. The event goes from Thursday February 5 to Saturday February 7.
