Materials
White and brown construction paper
Scissors
Pom-poms
Clothespins
Red, yellow, green, and orange paint
Paint dish
How to Prepare
1 Clip the clothespins onto the pom-poms.
2 Squirt a little color of each paint into the paint dish.
3 Cut the tree out by folding the brown construction paper in half and cutting the trunk and branches. Glue the tree down to the white construction paper.
How to Create
1 Dip your pom-poms into the different paint colors.
2 Talk about what colors you see in your yard while you add some leaves by dabbing the pom-poms on the paper. Do the trees around your house still have leaves on them, or have the leaves fallen?
There is no wrong way to do this activity! Don't discourage color mixing - it's a great hands-on experience to let kids explore.
