A man is facing a murder charge in connection to a deadly shooting last summer.
Eighteen-year-old Salim Mohamed was arrested Tuesday, according to Lt. Nick Butler of the Sioux Falls Police Department.
Mohamed is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 36-year-old Tunis Lomax. He also faces other lesser charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter and grand theft.
Lomax was fatally shot outside his eastern Sioux Falls apartment on Aug. 20, 2022.
Three other men were also arrested in the case on lesser charges, including manslaughter and receiving or possession of a stolen vehicle.
Police have not identified a motive in the shooting.
During a press briefing Wednesday, Butler said the arrests were finally made thanks to months of investigative work by detectives. He also recognized the devotion and patience of Lomax' family during the investigation.
