Diane Stiles announced her resignation as the vice president of Lake Area Technical College, according to the college. Her last day will be Aug. 18.
Stiles is originally from Kansas and formerly worked as the assistant vice president for student affairs at Northwest Kansas Technical College.
“My family and I have an extraordinary opportunity to move back home to Kansas and be closer to our families,” she said. “We are happy our children have a chance to grow up near their grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins, but we will deeply miss Lake Area Tech and the community of Watertown. “
Stiles has been their vice president since July 1, 2014.
During her time at Lake Area Tech, she earned the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and was selected for the Aspen Rising President Fellowship.
