Becca Jordre, Ph.D., is a physical therapist at the University of South Dakota. She helped create the Senior Athlete Fitness Exam to accurately measure a senior's athleticism. It's spreading throughout the nation.

The exam is harder to pass than you may think. Try this: Stand up, close your eyes and balance on one leg for up to 30 seconds.

Listen to Dr. Jordre's interview to learn more about her exam, the Senior Games and geriatric athletics.

Cara Hetland is the Director of Radio and Journalism Content for South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
