Canadian forest fires caused hazy skies in parts of eastern and central South Dakota on Monday. According to reports from multiple meteorologists, the skies will remain hazy in areas through Wednesday.

On Monday morning, the National Weather Service in Aberdeen tweeted out this picture.

Todd Heitkamp is a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls. He sent out this tweet on Tuesday.

Smoke filtered sunshine will continue across the area today and so we may see another colorful sunset!

The forecast later in the week predicts mid-80 temps and clear skies, so the weather should be perfect for Independence Day.
