Healthcare Provider Partners With State DOH To Provide Rapid COVID Testing

COVID
State Reports 657 Active COVID Cases, 51% Increase Since Last Week

Monument Health is partnering with the South Dakota Department of Health to provide rapid COVID-19 testing during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The free antigen kits are available to all attendees.

The DOH says testing can help slow the virus spread. Anyone with a positive test result should isolate themselves from others. People with a negative antigen test who still display COVID symptoms can follow up with a more sensitive PCR test.

Sturgis Mayor Mark Carstensen says the city is not coordinating vaccine opportunities or requiring masks. He says attendees need to take their own precautions against COVID-19.

Test kits will be distributed to Visit Rapid City, the Black Hills and Badlands Tourism Visitor Information Center and other locations. The city of Sturgis will deliver tests to anyone who provides their name, location, and contact information.

COVID-19 vaccines and testing are free and available to the public.
