The Sioux Falls Storm hosts the Nebraska Danger on Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena for the 2013 United Bowl game. The winner of the game is crowned the 2013 Indoor Football League Champion.
The 2013 Sioux Falls Storm Indoor Football team looks for their third straight championship on Saturday night at home. Sioux Falls is currently on a 33 game win streak at home, with their last loss in Sioux Falls coming in 2010 against the Omaha Beef. This season the Storm didn’t have a perfect regular season but they still were able to win 11 games and clinch the number one overall seed. Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs says the two teams playing for the championship on Saturday, deserve to be where they are.
"Well it’s probably the two teams everyone wanted to see, I mean. You know I think people were to the point where they expected the Storm to lose and not make it, but I think afterwards people saw that these were probably the two best teams," Coach Riggs says.
The Nebraska Danger comes into the game as the number two overall seed in the Indoor Football League, behind the Storm. Danger quarterback Jameel Sewell was named the 2013 IFL MVP this week. Storm defender Tyler Knight was named the IFL defensive player of the year. Saturday’s game is scheduled for a 7:05 kickoff.
