Early voting is open to all citizens, but for some in isolated rural communities on reservations voting early can mean a long drive and lots of gas money to get to the county seat.

The effort eases access to the voting box. But Native American Voting Rights Advocates say HAVA funds aren’t being used everywhere they could.
