Voting Rights Advocates Eye Wanblee

Early voting is open to all citizens, but for some in isolated rural communities on reservations voting early can mean a long drive and lots of gas money to get to the county seat.
 
Those working to increase access to the polls in Indian Country say they’re pleased that the Help America Vote Act is funding satellite polling places in small towns across the state.    The effort eases access to the voting box. But Native American Voting Rights Advocates say HAVA funds aren’t being used everywhere they could.
