After legislators killed a bill on Wednesday to eliminate the death penalty in South Dakota, they also killed a bill to limit the death penalty only to offenders who are too dangerous for prison. The bill provided that jurors would have to find that potential for future danger in addition to aggravating factors that currently justify capital punishment.
