Mary Moller is an advanced registered nurse practitioner. She's certified as a clinical specialist in adult psychiatric mental health nursing and as a psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner. She's lecturing tonight at 7 p.m. at South Dakota State University’s Student Union in Brookings. Her talk is called "There is No Health without Mental Health: Our Nation in Crisis. We look at the history, the politics, and the human impact of treating brain illnesses in America.
Jing Williams is an associate professor of Social Studies at the University of South Dakota. Morgan Hartenstein and Brittany Renzi are her students. They join us to talk about a research project called “Clay County’s Fallen” which honors South Dakota veterans and their stories.
Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender joins the program to talk about poverty and homelessness in downtown and what the community of citizens and business owners are doing to address it.
