Rapid City police say three people are in custody following a report of shots fired near downtown Rapid City Tuesday.
Officials determined at least one round was fired in the direction of the apartment building on Columbus street from a vehicle parked at the scene.
Officers arrested two adult occupants in an apartment within the building for warrants unrelated to the incident. One juvenile is in custody in relation to a stolen vehicle.
Officials add they recovered the gun, but the vehicle still needs processing for evidence.
Law enforcement interviewed at least fifteen individuals about the incident. They say the investigation is ongoing, and their ability to share details is limited.
