Governor Kristi Noem faces a primary challenge from a former House Speaker. However, Noem  has outraised and outspent her opponent.

Monkeypox is a viral disease spreading across the globe, but experts don’t believe the outbreaks will lead to a new pandemic.

Minnehaha County experienced some damage after the heavy winds, rain, and hail Monday. Minnehaha County Emergency Management reports several fallen trees and hail damage to vehicles. The National Weather Service confirmed one tornado in that area east of Brandon.

South Dakota is the second-largest honey producer in the nation. But last year, honey production in the state fell dramatically.

Schools from East River are celebrating state titles this week after the conclusion of the State Track and Field Championships last weekend in Sioux Falls. Colman-Egan, Sioux Falls Christian, and O’Gorman won girls state track titles, while Chester Area, Sioux Falls Christian, and Harrisburg won boys state championships.
