A federal agency is fining a trust company registered in South Dakota 1.5 million dollars in civil penalties. The feds cite a failure by the company to identify money laundering and securities fraud.

83 pages of search warrant affidavits relating to T. Denny Sanford and an investigation into child pornography have been released to the public. This comes after a years-long legal battle between Sanford, the Argus Leader, and ProPublica – an investigative journalism nonprofit.

Minnehaha and Lincoln counties have increasing juvenile and divorce cases but are trending down on criminal cases. Court officials say they don’t have enough resources to keep up.
