State officials assigned to serve on the Legislative Executive Board are presented with Legislative Research Council staff recommendations. One of these came from an LRC staff attorney who provided information on state nuclear power options.

The South Dakota Supreme Court sides with the Department of Transportation in a case regarding highway construction. In 2010, the DOT sought to improve Highway 16B in Rapid City by placing a median between opposing lanes of traffic.

The Sioux Falls School District has its hands full with thousands of students, but they're still keeping up with what's happening in Pierre. With six weeks until legislative session, administrators have their eyes on a few key items.

Black Hills Energy says it is no longer proposing rate changes for its customers with solar panels. That comes after a statewide environmental group issued a report countering the utility's claim those with solar panels are costing those without more money.
