On today's update...

State lawmakers are passing a $7.3 billion budget. It's one of lawmakers' constitutional requirements and they say they're proud of several items.

Governor Kristi Noem signs a bill into law allowing South Dakota's presiding governor to enter into agreements with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Previous state law identified the EPA as the federal authority over nuclear power.

The governor approves legislation creating a South Dakota Indian Child Advisory Council. The bill places the council within the Department of Social Services.

There's been a notable absence in the back row of the Senate this legislative year. On the final day of the session, lawmakers took a moment to acknowledge a long-term colleague.

And more.
