South Dakota Democratic Party leaders are supporting President Biden's decision to bow out of the 2024 election. State Democratic Party Executive Director Dan Ahlers said Biden stepping down is a selfless act.

Backers of an abortion rights ballot question are campaigning for a constitutional amendment without support of two advocacy groups. Both regional ACLU and Planned Parenthood organizations worry Constitutional Amendment G may not meaningfully restore abortion access.

The petition effort to put proposed changes to the Rapid City Vision Fund to a public vote has failed. In turn, new ordinances associated with that change are immediately in effect.

A South Dakota organization is chosen to announce a peace message to outer space. Members of the Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club learned they were tasked with generating a message of peace to be sent to the moon.
