A new wildfire has sparked near Edgemont as temperatures climb warmer in the West. The Red Canyon Fire is currently burning about 100 acres northeast of Edgemont.

The South Dakota Supreme Court is ordering a lower court to reconsider its case granting a carbon pipeline company eminent domain power. The ruling marks a legal victory for landowners challenging a major CO2 pipeline project.

The City of Sioux Falls' future plans include an emphasis on the creation of accessible and affordable housing for residents. Although projects are at many stages of development—some are close to finishing.

A proposal could move up to 17 B-1B bombers from Ellsworth Air Force Base to Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. The 28th Bomb Wing plans to repair the runway at Ellsworth for much of 2025.

Proposed changes to the Oceti Sakowin Essential Understandings are available for public comment. Updates to the standards include new teacher resources, an updated map of reservations and more.
