South Dakota US Senator Mike Rounds says the United State Attorney General should release as much of the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report that he legally can…
Rounds says it’s to the benefit of the president to get as much information about the report out as possible. But he says areas of the report that fall under the grand jury will get redacted.
“That part of it will probably not be made public, or at least I wouldn’t expect it to be made public,” Rounds says. “There are some national security concerns that have been expressed, I don’t know what they are, but on those I hope that the attorney general works through those and tries to get those re-approved, or written in such a fashion that he can share as much as possible, but still protect the national security concerns that are expressed.”
Rounds says he hopes the report is released in a timely manner.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller released his report to Attorney General William Barr last week.
According to Barr, the special counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump Campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russian to influence the 2016 election.
