The White House is granting South Dakota’s third request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration.
President Donald Trump’s approval will cover damage done by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred from June 30th to July 21st.
Preliminary assessments of the damage are estimated at $2.5 million dollars.
That brings a total preliminary damage assessment for spring and summer months in South Dakota at $13.5 million dollars this year.
FEMA officials are in South Dakota working on the first two federal disaster declarations and will continue to work on the third.
