Dr. David O’Hara directs the new Environmental Studies major at Augustana University in Sioux Falls. He discusses teaching environmental philosophy and the variety of student-led projects his class has inspired.
We also continue our new series Good Neighbors. Michelle Haukaas is the Market and Garden Manager for the Sicangu CDC’s Food Sovereignty Initiative. The program works to provide fresh vegetables throughout the Rosebud Reservation with a locally-tended garden, farmer’s markets, and produce subscription boxes.
