On today's show

The U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments today in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. It's a case that examines the constitutionality of abortion legislation out of Mississippi. Supreme Court watcher and University of Sioux Falls criminal justice professor Mike Thompson joins us to talk about the specifics of the case and the right to an abortion, which has been established and upheld for nearly half a century.

President Joe Biden signed the on-point-two-trillion dollar infrastructure bill into law last month. But what happens now? SDPB's Arielle Zionts joins us with a look at how South Dakotans might see the impact of the Biden plan.

Dakota Political Junkies Michael Card (political scientist and professor at USD) and Jon Hunter (publisher emeritus, Madison Daily Leader) join us to discuss the abortion rights debate in South Dakota in light of today's testimony in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

We Take A Moment to hear the story of Olive and Reginald Martin. The two grew up in Liverpool, England during WWII. They would marry and hop aboard a ship in 1963 — making their way to Mitchell.

The University of Sioux Falls (formerly Sioux Falls College) is the oldest private college in the state, but its history is not well known. USF professor Stephen Jackson explores that history in the Fall 2021 issue of South Dakota History journal.

SDPB's Nate Wek talks about the USD volleyball team making the NCAA tournament where they will face the University of Minnesota on Friday. Kalen DeBoer is from Millbank, S.D. DeBoer was involved in 3 championships at the University of Sioux Falls; he has been named head football coach at the University of Washington (Huskies).
