Legislative updates for South Dakota's crossover day

Brent Duerre

On today's In the Moment...

Which bills will reach the governor's desk and which won't? Today is a significant deciding factor. Get your crossover day coverage here.

Crossover day is a deadline for bills. A bill introduced in the House must move to the Senate before or by today and vice versa. If they don't make the move, then they're no longer in play.

Will the food tax, sales tax and property tax cuts survive the day? SDPB's Lee Strubinger takes a look at where those proposals are sitting.

Governor Kristi Noem made a lot of promises on the campaign trail and during her State of the State address. The Dakota Political Junkies are here with her scorecard this session. We talk with Professor Emeritus Mike Card.

In the Moment also checks in with South Dakota Supreme Court Chief Justice Steven Jensen and Attorney General Marty Jackley about how their legislative priorities have fared. They discuss the bills they've supported that cleared the crossover day hurdle.
