The king of the jungle is returning to the prairie. The Great Plains Zoo is breaking ground on a new lion and meerkat exhibit that will open in summer 2024.

Denise DePaolo is the director of public relations and marketing at the zoo. She discusses the history of lions in Sioux Falls and what visitors can expect at the upcoming exhibit.

The Rapid Creek Watershed could be impacted by a potential mineral withdrawal. Bonnie Gestring, northwest program director at Earthworks, explains what that means for the Black Hills' drinking water and how South Dakotans can get involved.

Joe Santos, Ph.D., is back for a Monday Macro lesson. He brings an analysis of the Federal Reserve's missed opportunities to prevent the Silicon Valley Bank collapse.

Read Dr. Santos' full blog.

Plus, a new book explores the radicalization of a small-town Midwestern woman. "Not the Camilla We Knew" traces the life of Camilla Hall from her Minnesotan roots to her membership in the Symbionese Liberation Army to her death in a police shootout.

Author Rachael Hanel discusses the surreal experience of writing a book about indoctrination during a time of hyper-partisanship and heightened domestic terrorism.

Hanel and Patrick Hicks, Ph.D., who chairs the English department at Augustana University, join In the Moment ahead of her speech at Augustana.
