Melissa Mayeux is a 16-year old baseball player from France, who is the first woman to ever be added to the Major League Baseball’s International registration list.

According to ESPN, she is currently a shortstop for the U18 junior national team of France, and she (along with anyone else on the MLB’s international registration list) can be signed as July 2 by any Major League Baseball club, if they so desire.

ESPN also mentions Mayeux as a player for France’s senior national softball team. Those analysts who have watched her play believe she’s the real deal, because she can make all the plays required from the shortstop position.
