Kadye Fernholz Of Miller Commits To Kansas State

Miller volleyball star Kadye Fernholz has verbally committed to playing collegiately for Kansas State.

The Rustlers senior announced her decision to attend Manhattan, Kansas via twitter on Monday evening.

“I’m so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to further my academic and volleyball career at Kansas State University,” said Fernholz. “Thankful for my family, coaches, and friends that helped me every step of the way! Go Cats!”

Throughout her high school career, Fernholz has 1,422 career kills, 814 digs, and 85 solo blocks.

Last season, Miller made it to the Class A state championship match against Sioux Falls Christian, but the Rustlers were defeated. They'll open the 2019 season in Winner against the Warriors on August 29th.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and three sons, Braxan, Jordy, and Anders live in Canton, SD.
