South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem signed two bills regarding a cyber research initiative in Sioux Falls.
Senate Bill 54 gives funds to the cyber program expansion at Dakota State University in Madison.
Senate Bill 130 allows the Board of Regents to start developing the Dakota State University Applied Research Lab in Sioux Falls.
Noem says state leaders must think about future employees in the state of South Dakota.
"When I first ran for governor I talked extensively about the need to diversify our economy and to make sure we are providing the opportunity for our kids and grandkids to pursue careers and stay here with us and continue to be a part of a future of South Dakota."
The two bills include a combined $80 million in funding.
