Sioux Falls’ public transportation system is making one of its new services available to more people.
Starting Monday, Sioux Area Metro is expanding its On Demand service to the entire city, including the airport, on weekdays.
Riders can use the On Demand feature through the SAM Transit app or SAM’s website. It uses an algorithm to match riders going the same direction into a single vehicle.
Everyone receives their first ten SAM on Demand rides for free, officials said.
The expansion is part of a broader plan being developed by the city’s new transit company, Via. They plan to implement additional changes to the city’s fixed-route bus system in September.
More details about the system are available on SAM's website.
