First Thunder Fire blazes southwest of Rapid City

Firefighters continue to battle the First Thunder Fire today.

The fire began late Monday on private land 3 miles southwest of Rapid City.

The blaze is burning about 40 acres of Black Hills National Forest land. No structures are currently threatened by the fire, but Pennington County Public Safety has issued an evacuation warning area. Find that map and updates here.

Fire Weather conditions remain high today as temperatures rise and humidity remains low.
