Gov. Kristi Noem is appointing a new commissioner of the Bureau of Information and Telecommunications.
Madhu Gottumukkala is the new commissioner effective Sept. 9.
He has worked in IT for two decades and most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer for the BIT.
He replaces Jeff Clines – who left to work in a similar role for Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon.
The South Dakota Bureau of Information and Telecommunications oversees SDPB.
