Yankton Mead Museum opening Hall of Trees event Nov. 29 until January

The Mead Museum in Yankton is opening its “Hall of Trees” event the day after Thanksgiving until the end of December.

The event is open to the public Monday-Thursdays from noon-4 p.m. and Fridays from noon-8p.m.

It is closed on Christmas day,

Over 70 Yankton-area business and organizations decorated Christmas trees for the event.

Attendees receive a voting token to choose their favorite tree. The winning business or organization wins a cash prize and trophy.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present on Dec. 8, 15 and 22 for children.

Children get in free while adults have an $8 admission. Senior admission is $6.

The Mead Museum is located at 82 Mickelson Drive Yankton, SD.

Jackson Dircks is a Freeburg, Illinois, native. He is pursuing a degree in English, Journalism and Secondary Education at Augustana University and planning to graduate in May 2025. He plans to pursue a career in sports journalism.
