State library receiving full federal funding

(File)

The South Dakota Library Association is announcing the state library is receiving full federal funding.

Previously, library officials were anticipating to receive only half of the full Institute of Museum and Library Services grant.

In a Facebook post, the South Dakota Library Association said training for library staff this summer is continuing, as well as no interruptions to databases the state has chosen to retain.

Courier services, or a service that transports books and other library materials across the state, resumes June 1. The Facebook post said that makes the Interlibrary loan more affordable.

Correction: An earlier version of this story erroneously said the South Dakota Library received full federal funding, instead of the state library.
