The South Dakota Highway Patrol is planning on conducting more than a dozen sobriety checkpoints across the state this month.
Troopers will conduct checkpoints in 15 counties throughout February, including Brookings, Charles Mix, Codington, Davison, Jackson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington, Roberts, Sanborn, Stanley, Walworth and Yankton counties.
The Highway Patrol works with local law enforcement agencies during these operations. Officials say they’re designed to cut down on drunk driving.
