Deadwood based blues artist Brandon Sprague has certainly gained the respect of his peers. B.B. King said, "Brandon plays from the heart and will be part of carrying on the blues torch." An adept performer, Sprague has mastered his Fender Stratocasters and dobro guitar. Over the years, he's shared the stage with blues greats like Eddy Clearwater, Kenny Neal, Chris Duarte, Gene Taylor, B.B. King and many others.
This week's No Cover, No Minimum Radio, featuring the Brandon Sprague Blues Band, comes from JazzFest 2012 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, a presentation of the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society. Sprague was joined by guitarist/vocalist Marty Nelson, drummer Ryan Keller, bassist Doug Perry, Derek Snow on harmonica and vocals and Rick Wilsey on washboard.
