On February 21 for the first time ever, the internationally acclaimed TED event is coming to Brookings as TEDxBrookings. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. TEDxBrookings is focused around the theme "Reinventing Rural." The goal is to bring together artists, business and community leaders, entrepreneurs, students and educators to showcase the diversity and creativity of rural South Dakota. Through this cross pollination we look forward to not only sharing ideas worth spreading by the speakers but also creating new ideas during the event. Doors open at 8 am at the Brookings Nature Park. Scott Meyer and Greg Tehven discussed the event happening this week.
