Samantha Fish

Samantha Fish is barely into her 20s but her blues chops are those of a veteran.  Growing up in the blues hotbed of Kansas City, Fish was more into artists like Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones and the Black Crowes.  The blues became her genre, however, after countless viewings of a Stevie Ray Vaughn video.  By the age of 17, Fish was already playing to live audiences.  Her debut came at Knucklehead's in Kansas City.  Her debut CD, "Runaway," was released in 2012.  For it, she was honored with the Blues Music Award for Best New Artist Debut that year.  It was another feather for Fish after her successful CD and overseas tour as part of Girls With Guitars.  Fish joined Cassie Taylor and Dani Wilde for the project which created an international buzz.  Fish and her band, which includes bassist Scot Sutherland and drummer G0-Go Ray, played JazzFest on July 18, 2014 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, a presentation of the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society.  Fish attacked the stage with her blazing vocals and guitar work as the band toured on her 2013 release, "Black Wind Howlin'."
