The Hill City Slickers first met in church choir and were brought together by their mutual interests in singing, playing music and telling bad jokes. Their music is perfect entertainment for sitting around a campfire. During summer months they frequently perform at campgrounds in the Black Hills.
Friday at 7:30 pm, the Hill City Slickers celebrate their 20th anniversary with a concert at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City. The Hill City Slickers are Gary Daiss, guitar, banjo, saxophone, harmonica and rain stick; Ken Anderson guitar and mandolin; and Bruce Jordan cello, bass, and teapot. They joined Dakota Midday for an informal performance.
