Today is Arbor Day and it's a day where groups and individuals are encouraged to plant trees. The first one in America originated in Nebraska City Nebraska on April 10, 1872. In honor of this day, nearly 600 essayists entered into an Arbor Day Essay Contest.

Joining us today is Angela Ehlers, the executive director of the South Dakota Association of Conservation Districts, Nathan Kafer, an agroforester for the State of South Dakota, Resource Conservation and Forestry Division, and South Dakota's Secretary of Agriculture, Kim Vanneman.
