SD Magazine "Heirloom Recipes"

South Dakota Magazine

In The Moment … September 16, 2020 Show 903 Hour 2

An heirloom recipe is a made from scratch dish that dates to before 1950. Each year, the South Dakota State Fair is host to an heirloom recipe contest. The September/October edition of South Dakota Magazine finds Laura Johnson Andrews writing about Kraut Strudels along with bread pudding. She joins us now with more on being asked to judge this contest a few years ago. Assisting her was Catherine Lambrecht, president of Chicago's Greater Midwest Foodways Alliance.
