In The Moment … October 8, 2020 Show 919 Hour 1
This year's South Dakota Festival of Books is a month-long offering of virtual conversations, lectures, and workshops. You can find upcoming events on the festival website at sdbookfestival.com. Today we bring you one of those conversations. In the Moment host, Lori Walsh interviewed Pulitzer Prize-Winning author Adam Johnson.
Johnson teaches creative writing at Stanford University. He is drawn to stories that feature the absurd. He and Lori talked about his novel "The Orphan Master's Son." It's the story of a North Korean "model citizen" and how his life is upended by the whims and failings of a totalitarian nation.
Arts, Literature & Music reporting at SDPB is sporsored by NSU Fine Arts
