Deadwood woman sets path for South Dakota's suffrage campaign

This interview is from SDPB's daily public-affairs show, In the Moment, hosted by Lori Walsh.

Mabel Rewman arrived in Deadwood in the early 1900s. She quickly became involved in local organizations and took leadership in South Dakota's suffrage campaign. Through her activism, Rewman helped to open new doors for social and political activism for women.

From Deadwood, Rewman was able to impact communities throughout the state and the nation.

Professor Kelly Kirk is the director of the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center and will host a presentation about Mabel Rewman at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center on March 3 at 12:00pm
