Brandon Fey is a fire inspector with the city of Sioux Falls.
This program started in 2005. Local residents could then come to fire headquarters and grab up to 4 alarms that they would install on their own.
In 2011, the program started to change and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue began to install alarms in residents homes.
In 2013, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue partnered with Red Cross and stopped handing alarms out a fire headquarters. Red Cross supplied the smoke alarms and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would go into residents’ houses to install the alarms.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue are now capable of installing hard wired interconnect smoke alarms along with battery alarms and battery change outs, and bedside fire alarm and strobes for the hearing impaired.
