Dakota Life: Lux family hold on to their dreams through determination and creative grassland management

Agriculture has always been the heart of Leola’s economy. And though the town is known as the rhubarb capital of the world, you might be surprised to hear that farmers produce more corn than rhubarb.

Another change has been the decline in dairy farms. Layne and LeeAnn Lux were among those local dairy farmers struggling to get by. SDPB’s Lura Roti visited the Lux Ranch to learn how Layne and LeeAnn held on to their dreams through determination and creative grassland management.
