The first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend has become a day dedicated to helping charitable organizations. It's called "Day of Giving," and it's designed to be a day where we think of those in need in the midst of the holiday shopping season.
South Dakota Gives is an organization established to make it easy to find and give to South Dakota-based nonprofits. The group's website lists dozens of groups that help out South Dakotans in a variety of ways.
Nonprofits listed in the South Dakota Gives database are also eligible to win money from the South Dakota Prize Pool.
